Trader Joe’s White Corn Tortilla Recall Over Finding Milk In Its Production – A Recall For Milk Allergic People

Trader Joe’s, an American grocery store chain, has issued a recall of their tortilla chips due to findings that they contained milk.

Trader Joe’s recalled its white corn tortilla chips product. The company found out that the product contained milk that can trigger allergic reactions.

The company did not announce what type of milk allergen was found in their tortilla chips. It issued the recall on April 13, 2021.

The particular product being recalled is Trader Joe’s Restaurant Style White Corn Tortilla Chips. The company sells the recalled tortilla chips in 9-ounce bags.

The recall will cover tortilla chips with sell-by dates from August 9, 2021, to August 11, 2021.

Tortilla Chips Milk Allergen

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states in their recall notice report that the recalled tortilla chips contained milk that could cause allergies.

The tortilla chips should not be consumed by individuals who are allergic to or sensitive to milk since they may encounter dangerous allergic reactions.

The recalled tortilla chips were sold in the company’s retail stores located in the following states:

Trader Joe’s declared that they had not received reports of individuals who suffered or got sick due to consuming the product. The company is not yet facing any legal actions against them due to the issue.

Recall Process

Customers who have purchased the covered products are advised not to eat the tortilla chips since they may get an allergic reaction.

They are also recommended to participate in the recall and return of the product. Doing so will give customers a full refund of the item.
