Homestead Creamery Recall
Homestead Creamery of Wirtz, Va., is recalling a lot of its Homestead Creamery chocolate ice cream for potentially containing pecans. Pecan is an allergen and the product label does not include it on its ingredients list, making the label deceiving and the product potentially hazardous to people sensitive to the ingredient.
The recalled products involve the chocolate ice cream in quart packages that were dated May 13, 2021, on the bottom of the container and were sold in May by retail stores and direct delivery in Virginia and North Carolina.
Next Steps
Consumers are advised to return the product they purchased to the place of purchase to get a full refund.
There are no reports to date of people who fell ill after ingesting the product.
