US Authorities Order Recall Of Turkey Meat Products Due To Fears Of Salmonella Contamination
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released a recall alert on a series of ground raw turkey meat products over concerns that they may have been contaminated with Salmonella.
USDA-Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) officials have ordered the recall of a handful of Plainville Brands, LLC ground raw turkey products for fears that it may cause Salmonella Hadar to anybody that would consume them.
A report conducted by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) echoed the USDA’s concerns after it has found out that 28 individuals got sick with Salmonella Hadar across twelve states all across the United States.
They were all forced to seek medical attention, and no deaths were reported.
The outbreak of Salmonella Hadar in different US states was directly linked to the consumption of certain Plainville Brands turkey ground meat products.
Though they are already not available on store shelves nationwide, officials are still concerned that many consumers may still have them stored in their refrigerators and freezers.
This poses a high risk of consuming an unknowing consumer, and they will get sick because of it.

- Plainville Farms Ground White Turkey 93% | 7% Fat (1-pound size pack; With “Use by/freeze/sell by” date of 1/10/21 shown in the packaging)
- Wegman 94% LEAN | 6% FAT Ground Turkey (1-pound size pack; With “Use by/freeze/sell by” dates of 1/3/21, 1/4/21, 1/8/21, and 1/10/21 shown in the packaging)
- Wegman 94% LEAN | 6% FAT Ground Turkey (3-pound size pack; With “Use by/freeze/sell by” dates of 1/3/21, 1/4/21, 1/8/21, and 1/10/21″ shown in the packaging)
If you find the following products inside your freezer, you should not consume them and should dispose of them accordingly as quickly as possible. You can either throw them out or return them to the store where you have bought them.
Common symptoms of Salmonella Hadar range from diarrhea to fever.
Some symptoms are manageable at home, but some cases might require patients to seek medical help to a hospital.
