Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. voluntarily recalls a small number of their Curly Leaf Parsley.
Dole Curly Leaf Parsley, with specified harvest dates of August 18, 2021, to August 19, 2021, is being recalled. In Michigan, a random, routine regulatory sample came back positive with non-O157 STEC, a.k.a Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. Dole Fresh Vegetables is closely coordinating with regulatory officials regarding the recall; no illnesses have been documented to date.
Shiga-toxin-producing E. coli is a foodborne illness-causing organism that can harm a person who consumes a contaminated food item. Stomach cramps, diarrhea, as well as vomiting are all possible symptoms of infection.

This precautionary recall has been initiated in response to the discovery of a positive non-O157 STEC result on a single sample collected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture during normal random sampling.
This recall applies to only traditional Curly Leaf Parsley harvested on the dates specified above and bearing the specific PLU as well as the UPC code found on the bunches and PTI label codes found on the cases.
The recall does not include any additional Curly Leaf Parsley goods. Consumers who possess products with these UPC/PLU Product Codes should avoid consumption and instead discard them.
