Cheddar & Jalapeno Nuts Contain Unstated Dairy And Food Coloring

Wolfies Roasted Nut Co., a food company based in Ohio, has initiated a voluntary recall of one of its products recently due to the failed disclosure of its actual ingredients. 

But what exactly made the company push through with the move? 

According to reports, Wolfies Roasted Nut Co. wasn’t able to properly put in their artisan nuts’ labeling information regarding traces of certain food ingredients that are said to trigger allergic reactions to some people. 

A routine inspection by the Ohio authorities has discovered that the company’s Artisan Nuts in Cheddar & Jalapeno flavor consists of items such as dairy and synthetic food dyes. 

Traces of cheese was discovered along with lab-made coloring additives known as FD&C Yellow No. 5 and Yellow No. 6. These items weren’t placed in the product’s labeling information. 

Experts have warned that consumption of these products can trigger a severe allergic reaction. Consumers are strongly advised to steer clear of eating the affected product. 

Should a person accidentally ate some of the products and is experiencing different allergic reactions, send them to the nearest hospital for immediate medical care.

As of writing, there were no recorded incidents of customers getting sick or suffering from allergies after consuming Wolfies Roasted Nut Co.’s Cheddar & Jalapeno flavored Artisan Nuts.

More About The Recall 

The aforementioned recall order encompasses all across the state of Ohio. The affected batch of Wolfies Roasted Nut Co.’s artisan nuts was said to have been distributed at more than 18 stores all over the Buckeye State.

There are two different product versions that are included in the recall. 

First is the bigger 80 oz product version packaged in a clear bag with the company’s label and comes with a text stating ‘Cheddar & Jalapeno’ as its flavor. 

The other one is the smaller package sizes of the same product that is put in a black rice paper pack. They come in three different sizes – 28 oz, 14 oz, and 5 oz. 

Wolfies Roasted Nut Co. has opened its lines to entertain consumer concerns and queries concerning the recall.
