Birkenstock Mogami Sandals Recall 2021 – Not Safe For Kids…

Birkenstock Recalls Sandals for Kids Over Choking Hazard

Over 15,000 pairs of Birkenstock children’s sandals have been recalled owing to a choking hazard.

Birkenstock Recall, 2021

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wednesday, announced the recall on its website.

Although the company is not presently facing legal action in connection with the recall, such incidents occasionally result in class action lawsuits.

Birkenstock USA stated that a plastic rivet on the sandal’s ankle strap can detach, creating a choking threat to young children.

According to the recall, consumers should immediately withdraw the recalled sandals and return them to the retailer for a full refund. In addition, the company stated that no injuries have been reported as a result of the issue.

Recall Info

The recall concerns children’s Mogami sandals in sizes 24-28 that are normally designed for toddlers up to the age of three.

From March 2021 through May 2021, the affected sandals were distributed to retailers nationwide and online.

The sandals are available in black, blue, pink, and lime and feature the word “BIRKENSTOCK” printed on the footbed and buckle.

Birkenstock is recalling around 15,200 pairs in the United States and approximately 27 pairs in Canada.

The recall comes only weeks after Joe Fresh recalled two kinds of children’s and toddler footwear after receiving reports of a faulty seam by the manufacturer in Canada.

Due to a fault, the front strap on Joe Fresh Functional Sandals in Khaki Green may detach. According to Health Canada’s recall notice, the unfastened strap can cause a trip as well as a choking hazard.
