Avanza Pasta Recall March 2021 – Produced Without Any Inspection From FSIS…

Avanza Pasta Products Are Being Recalled

Food manufacturer, Avanza Pasta, is recalling their products due to allegedly being produced without being inspected by authorities.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) declared in March 2021 that Avanza Pasta products would be recalled because they did not undergo proper federal inspection. The FSIS is under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)

It is estimated that the company will recall up to 2,237 pounds of their meat and poultry pasta products.

The specific products being recalled are Avanza Pasta’s ravioli and tortellini. It was reported that the products were manufactured between October 5, 2019, and March 12, 2021.

The products also allegedly do not contain the USDA mark since they were not inspected. They also do not have any inspection number. The products being recalled also has varying expiration dates, which can last until 2022.

The product recall will affect three states, namely Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, where the company supplies the product to various establishments.

FSIS Surveillance

The FSIS asserts that they have not yet received any reports where injuries or damages occurred because of consuming the recalled products.

They have released a list containing all the products that will be recalled.

They have also released a list of establishments or brands to where Avanza Plaza’s products are being supplied, including Ambrosimo’s, Prisco’s Family Market, Conte De Savoia, Nature’s Best, and Frankie’s Deli.

They state that the issue of not undergoing inspection was discovered by the organization during one of the surveillance activities.

The FSIS advises individuals who have already purchased any Avanza Pasta product not to consume them.

The organization encourages the public to check their freezers if they have bought and kept Avanza Pasta products.

They add that customers should immediately dispose of the product or return them to the place where it was bought to get a refund.

The FSIS declares that they will routinely inspect if the product recall was completed. This action is to ensure that no recalled products will be consumed by customers.
