Over 15,000 AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattresses Recalled 

Due to fears of posing a fire hazard to its users, Amazon customers are encouraged to join a recall of the online retail giant’s memory foam mattress offering numbering the thousands. 

Amazon’s Safety Concerns

Per Amazon, via the United States (U.S.) Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), its AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattress, is being pulled out of the market for they failed to meet the regulatory requirements for flammability.

To help you determine whether you are part of the AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattress Recall, Consider The Consumer has listed down the following information for you to check out:

• Amazon is recalling around 15,300 AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattresses that come in 10” and 12” size options;

• The company said that the affected products were sold between the months of April 2020 to March 2021 and priced from $150 to $450 each depending on the variant purchased;

• The mattress products being recalled come in color white and have the labels of ‘amazonbasics’ and ‘Amazon.com Services Inc.;’ printed and indicated on the products themselves; and

• In response to the recall, Amazon has promised to reach out to eligible claimants to send them mattress covers to use on their products to make them comply with the flammability safety rules set by the government.

As of writing, Amazon is not facing any class action cases involving the memory foam mattress fiasco.
