UK to US Travelers to Undergo Stricter Protocols Following the New Covid-19 Strain

U.S. authorities slated to impose stricter guidelines for incoming travelers in fear of the newest COVID-19 strain

UK to US travelers and people flying in from other countries to the US will need to undergo a stricter process before being allowed entry inside the United States (U.S.) as a new, far more contagious strain of the Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has been detected in the United Kingdom (U.K.) and in several other countries as well.

This has forced the US to require rigorous testing requirements for travelers onboard of UK to US flights before being allowed entry.

Federal authorities, at the time of this piece’s posting, will have already imposed a strict requirement for travelers from across the Atlantic in order to stop the spread of a dangerous strain of the COVID-19 virus, in a bid to limit and minimize the impact of the contamination.

Experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have reportedly urged authorities to act quickly and impose a stringent testing procedure for travelers from the UK before they are permitted entry into the U.S. CDC and flying procedures have been the talk of the town as soon as the news broke out.

The order, so that it can be enforced by authorities, will be released through an order from the Oval Office very soon. It will ask British travelers to test negative for the virus no more than 72 hours before their departure.

A person flying would be asked to furnish copies of test results to airline companies before being allowed to board a flight bound to the U.S.

Only those who have negative test results and meet the requirements will be allowed to carry on.

Airline Companies To Obey The New Regulations

Additionally, airline companies will be given the prerogative to refuse a person to travel if they do not have such test results or refuse to take a Covid test.

Several airlines such as Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, etc., have already imposed this measure on their passengers in a bid to stop the spread of the newest strain of the COVID-19 virus.

The U.K. was not the only place in the world where new strains of the virus were reported. There were also documented cases reported in other parts of the globe in countries such as the Netherlands, Iceland, Italy, Australia, and Denmark.

U.S. health authorities are already on high alert for they fear that a new strain of the virus may already be making its rounds within the country’s borders under the experts’ noses.

The entry of this far more dangerous and contagious strain of the virus would potentially push the country’s already ailing healthcare system and infrastructure.

All over the country, many health personnel has been forced to take in triple the amount of workload due to the massive influx of Covid-related cases.

As of the time of this piece’s publication, the US has already recorded almost a quarter of a hundred million positive cases with more than 370 thousand deaths.
