Samsung Issues (Half) an Apology

In the wake of numerous different failures, Samsung has thought it best to issue an apology. With customers from all over the world becoming more and more fed up with the brand, Samsung has started running full page ad campaigns in major newspapers across the world this morning (November 8, 2016).

In pertinent part, the ads state:

“Samsung is fully committed to identifying and addressing the source of the Note7’s battery issue,” the ad reads. “We have already initiated investigations with independent third party experts to carefully revisit every aspect of the device, including the battery, hardware and software, and manufacturing processes. Once available, we will transparently share our findings.”

Interestingly enough, we did not come across any advertisements that mentioned the recall of the nearly 3 million washing machines across the U.S. that were also, well….blowing up.

This washing machine recall followed years of complaints about the machines shaking so vigorously pieces would fall off, and even a few fires starting because of the fault.

It’s certainly odd that the company has turned a blind eye to the many buyers of its washing machines, but it should be amusing to see where the Note 7 story heads next.
