The Trio of Social Media – Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, Are Not Working for Millions of Users Across The Globe Despite Good Internet Connection
As reported by millions of users along with Down Detector on 4th October 2021, the trio – FB, IG, and WA are down. To discuss the issue, people took their opinions to Twitter and found others to be having the same issue.
All three of the platforms display different errors. With FB saying “something went wrong,” IG saying “5xx server error,” and WhatsApp displaying “internet issues.”
As per online reports, users’ internet connection has nothing to do with the failure of using the apps. For now, the involvement of third-party cybercriminals is not reported. The errors are most likely a technical issue in FB’s backend system. Along with not being able to send or receive messages, users are also not able to make calls.
Facebook Officials
Andy Stone (Facebook’s Communication Executive) tweeted, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Other reports also suggest that the Facebook Whistleblower, Frances Haugen, claims that Facebook prefers profits over its users’ safety.
