C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (C&S) is issuing a voluntary recall of a number of perishable items sold at two New York Target stores. One store, located at 98 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack and the other located at 160 North Research Place in Central Islip. According to the wholesaler, the products were not held at an appropriate temperature “due to a mechanical malfunction during C&S transportation” and could pose a possible health risk if consumed.
The recall includes items by Lactaid, Kraft and other popular brands and were sold on June 17, 2019. To date, no illnesses have been reported. Complete item lists are below:
The recall was initiated by C&S after it was determined that the two Target stores were in receipt of the product shipment. The company is working with the FDA and the USDA to to inform the public about the situation. Once notified, Target stores were directed to remove all merchandise received from C&S on the 17th.
If consumers have purchased any of the recalled products, they should discard of the products immediately and contact Target’s Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680. A full refund in the form of a Target gift card will be granted.
Products purchased at any other Target store are not affected by this recall, according to the FDA announcement.
