Over 2 million pounds of poultry products were recalled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on Wednesday. The FSIS said the products, packaged by Simmons Prepared Foods, Inc., may be contaminated with metal.
The items were produced between October 21, 2019 through November 4, 2019. Those under recall bear establishment numbers “P-1949,” “P- 486” or “P-5837” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The products were shipped to eight states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
The FSIS said the issue was discovered in processing and there are no reports illness for injury associated with the recalled items.
Anyone with the recalled products should return them to the place of purchase for a refund or discard them.
