Snoop Dogg and Dunkin’ Donuts Create a New Plant-Based Product
By Consider The Consumer on January 14, 2020
On Monday, Dunkin’ Donuts began selling a Beyond Sausage patty with egg and cheese, served on a sliced glazed donut. The “Beyond D-O-Double G Sandwich” was inspired by rapper Snoop Dogg and his “passion for plant-based protein and love of glazed donuts,” according to a press release. The sandwich will only be available for a week, and is the latest promotion for the plant-based protein since it was introduced to the national in November.
Dunkin’ first brought Snoop on last year with the plant-based meat in a TV ad campaign. Snoop and Dunkin’ are also opening a pop-up store, where they will sell clothing items, including a green tracksuit with the words “Glazzzed for Days,” later this month.
Beyond Meat has been a hit for Dunkin’. According to Dunkin’ CEO Dave Hoffmann, the Beyond Sausage Sandwich is now the second best-selling item in Dunkin’s Manhattan stores. The chain is hoping this launch will be successful enough to add the sandwich to its regular menu.
