Ragú Recall: Pasta Sauce May Be Contaminated With Plastic

Ragú is recalling five types of pasta sauce sold nationwide because they may contain plastic fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The introduction of plastic may have taken place during production in June.

About The Recall

Recalled sauces were produced between June 4 and June 8 and a number of those cases were shipped recently. Walmart was among the retailers that posted the recall when it was first announced in mid-June and removed the products from their store’s shelves.

Other stores followed suit. The recall now only pertains to the plastic sauce containers. Glass jars are not affected, says Ragú’s parent company, Mizkan International.
