Mercedes Recalls 750K Cars, Sunroofs Can Detach and Fly Off

Mercedes-Benz is recalling more than 750,000 cars because the sunroofs could detach and fly off causing major accidents and injury to drivers and pedestrians alike.

The recall includes the 2001-2011 C-Class, E-Class, CLK-Class and the CLS-Class models.

Essentially, the bonding material on the sunroofs can potentially deteriorate and the sunroof can detach, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Mercedes will contact car owners affected by the recall on or after February 14. Mercedes will inspect and replace the sunroofs free of charge.
