Unauthorized Threat Actor Gained Access to Lakeview File Servers- Customers’ Sensitive Information At Risk
Lakeview’s file servers were accessed by unauthorized parties. These file servers included customers’ personal information such as names, addresses, loan numbers, and Social Security numbers, according to the complaint. An unauthorized person obtained access to files on Lakeview’s file storage servers between October 27, 2021 to December 7, 2021.
Lakeview notified victims of the breach on March 18, 2022, more than three months after it learned of the breach. The data of approximately 2.5 million individuals was compromised in the breach. The personal information of customers is a direct result of Lakeview’s failure to carry out and maintain sufficient data security safeguards.
