About 88,000 Ecoxgear EcoBoulder Bluetooth speakers are being recalled because the speaker’s battery can overcharge and burst.
The speakers were sold at Costco stores nationwide (from October 2016 to January 2017), Academy Sports, Cabela’s, Home Depot and Best Buy stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com (from January through December 2018) and retailed for about $180.
The products included in the recall are Ecoxgear EcoBoulder Bluetooth speakers in black with one of five accent colors. Colors, model numbers and UPC codes are:
- orange (GDI-EXBM900, UPC 819127010331)
- black (GDI-EXBM901, UPC 819127010348)
- yellow (GDI-EXBM904, UPC 819127011796)
- red (GDI-EXBM907, UPC 819127011802)
- blue (GDI-EXBM913, UPC 819127011819).
Consumers should contact Ecoxgear for a battery replacement kit by calling 800-903-9664 or emailing email@example.com.
