A makeup brand for young girls and “tweens ” has issued a voluntary recall of some popular products. Just Shine is a Canadian brand of cosmetics sold in Justice stores nationwide in the United States. The product is found to contain harmful asbestos.
About The Recall
Justice reports they are unaware of any reactions to the products, but have provided information about the recall on their website. The website also says of asbestos and their products, “inhalation of asbestos over time has been linked to serious adverse health consequences.”
They go on to say further that, “the well-being and satisfaction of our customers is of paramount importance to Justice. The products are included in the recall out of an abundance of caution. We are going above and beyond industry standards in the name of customer safety to make sure our customers are safe.”
The products that are included in the recall include:
- Just Shine Shimmer Powder
- Just Shine Bronzer Brush
- Just Shine Makeup Palette (11 piece – pinks)
- Just Shine Makeup Palette (11 piece – blues)
- Just Shine Eye Shadow Palette (5 piece – cool)
- Just Shine Eye Shadow Palette (5 piece – pinks)
- Just Shine Makeup Palette (9 piece glitter cream)
- Just Shine Eye Shadow Palette (9 piece eyeshadow and glitter cream)
Justice urges consumers to stop using the products immediately and to return them to their stores, even without receipts. Do not mail the products. Consumers will be issued a full refund.
