Chicken Soup Sold at Some H-E-B Stores Recalled, Salmonella

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a recall notice for chicken soup that has both wheat and soy allergens not declared on the label.

The chicken soup warning comes just days after a cut fruit recall was issued by Tailor Cut Produce for salmonella concerns. The affected chicken soup was produced by Canyon Creek Soup Co. Ltd and distributed at H-E-B retail stores.

The soup was sold in 16-ounce plastic containers and labeled as H-E-B Meal Simple Butter Chicken Soup. It has a UPC code that reads 0 41220 79872 8 with a best by date of 2020 JAN 21. The product was produced on January 21, 2019.

The FSIS is urging consumers to throw away or return the affected product to the place of purchase.

Consumers with questions can contact the Canyon Creek Soup Company hotline at 1-888-217-1246.
