Fiat Chrysler is recalling 700,000 SUVs worldwide to fix a problem that causes engines to stall.
The recall covers certain 2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos. A majority of the vehicles are on the roads in North America.
According to reporting, the company says silicon deposits on the contact points of fuel pump relays cut off the electrical current to engines and this is what causes engines to stall or fail to start in the initial start.
Fiat Chrysler says to date there are no crashes or injuries reported as a result of this issue. Some of the relays were replaced in a previous recall.
The company will notify owners when it’s time to take their SUVs to dealers.
