Walmart Recalls 6,400lbs of Meat Products Over Salmonella Concerns

Walmart “Great Value” meat items have been recalled due to salmonella contamination, according to health officials.

More than 6,400 pounds of the ready-to-eat pork sausage patties and turkey sausage patties were recalled by George’s Prepared Food of CaryvilleTenn. The packages were sent to Walmart stores nationwide, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service.

The products included in the recall are:

  • “Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties” with a use-by date of 10/16/19 
  • “Great Value Fully Cooked Original Breakfast Turkey Patties” with a use-by date of 10/24/19
  • “Family Size Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties” with a use-by date of 11/03/19

No illnesses have been reported as a result of this recall.
