The Truth About Tenofovir Lawsuit
The plaintiffs have alleged that despite offering a safer drug to treat hepatitis B, known as Tenofovir Alafenamide Fumarate (TAF), Gilead Science failed to pull Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) from the market, keeping on shelves, knowingly, for around 10 years.
According to the company withheld TAF to maximize the patent and lifecycle of TDF. Thus, plaintiffs claim that Gilead risked patients from unnecessarily kidney disease and osteoporosis.
