Listerine Naturals Mouthwash Contain Artificial Ingredients, Contradicting Manufacturer Claims
Consumer products manufacturer Johnson & Johnson is being sued in a class action lawsuit alleging that it purposely misled consumers into thinking that its Listerine mouthwash product is natural and free from synthetic chemicals and other ingredients.
Listerine Mouthwash Maker Johnson & Johnson Slapped With Class Action
Johnson & Johnson is facing class action litigation accusing the company of allegedly not labeling their Listerine Naturals mouthwash properly.
Filed by plaintiff Bobby Philips, the Listerine Naturals Class Action Lawsuit is seeking to take behemoth Johnson & Johnson to court for their alleged misdeeds concerning how they presented their mouthwash’ characteristics to the general public.
Complainant Philips argued that the marketing behind Listerine Naturals mouthwash intended to make their clients believe that the said product was made from natural ingredients alone. However, according to the class action lawsuit, this is simply untrue.
Upon inspection of the product’s ingredients, it is found out that it contained sodium fluoride. Sodium fluoride is a synthetic byproduct resulting from several stages of chemical reactions and processes.
In addition, other substances present in Johnson & Johnson’s mouthwash product, including stevia sweetener, sorbitol, and others, are believed to be all end products of several man-induced chemical processes conducted under highly restricted and monitored conditions and environments.
Not only that, some are even said to cause dangers to a person’s health in the event of exposure. In fact, it is said that poloxamer 407, another non-natural substance found in Listerine Naturals mouthwash, is potentially cancerous.
Class Action In A Nutshell
The class action filing is questioning Johnson & Johnson’s motive for purportedly making misleading marketing claims and product labels to promote its Listerine Naturals mouthwash product offering.
Complainant Philips is seeking to form and represent a Class group consisting of members residing in New York who happened to purchase Johnson & Johnson’s Listerine Naturals mouthwash after believing that they indeed only contained natural ingredients.
