Keebler Fudge Stripes Class Action Lawsuit Details – Poor Quality Fudges Mean Fake…

Keebler Fudge Is a Fake, According To Class Action Lawsuit

Keebler is known to be one of the best cookie makers in the country, but a recent class action was filed against them, claiming their product is misleadingly sold and marketed.

Plaintiffs claim Keebler fudge is not made of real fudge because the manufacturer does not use traditional ingredients meant in making fudge.

What Else To Know About the Case

According to the class action, Ferrara Candy Co., maker of Keebler fudge, uses cheaper ingredients for their products, but they charge a premium for the product when it gets sold.

Fudge is traditionally made with milk, sugar, and butter. The product packaging of the product does not have these ingredients, but only cheap substitutes.

The lawsuits also cite how long the ingredients list is on the packaging, as the manufacturer did not separate the fudge and cookie ingredients, leaving customers to look over a very long list.

What customers would actually get instead of milk, sugar and butter is vegetable oil, syrup, and whey.

The case further claims that the product gives less satisfaction, gives off an oily mouthfeel, and leaves an aftertaste.

Plaintiffs also allege that baking experts advise not to use substitutes for fudge ever, never to use vegetable oils or margarine instead of butter.

This is because they have soybean, kernel, and palm oils, making the product more watery and keeps the fudge from setting properly.

Using whey is also detrimental, as it does not have the milk fats necessary for the fudge to get its creamy texture, which is in contrast to Keebler’s claims that their fudge is real.
