Hyundai Genesis SUV Having a Mind of Its Own When Driven – Lawsuit Claims
Dr. Barbara Feinstein sued Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Motor America, and Genesis Motors America LLC in a class action lawsuit in Maryland federal court, claiming the company violates Maryland and federal laws by allegedly selling defective GV80 SUVs.
The reason for this is that the three businesses are the ones distributing, selling, and promoting the Genesis vehicle line, naming the brand as the luxury line of cars.
As Genesis Motors is a division under Hyundai luxury vehicles, people expected to have the best when they rolled out their Hyundai Genesis GV80.
The Reason for the Lawsuit
The Genesis GV80 is the first SUV that Hyundai and Genesis partnership rolled out and is the Class Vehicle. It was advertised as having a high-performance capability, making driving on or off-road exciting and fun.
But the plaintiff claims customers did not get to experience the high-performing abilities that Hyundai and Genesis promised.
The lawsuit alleges that anyone who bought or leased GV80 SUV and experienced unstable driving or felt the car shudder or vibrate and suddenly veer off course when driving should be eligible as a class member.
Feinstein alleges Hyundai knew of what was happening with GV80 SUVs, which was proven in June 2020 when the company stopped the distribution of the cars because of vibration problems.
But the plaintiff claims nothing was done about the defect and that the company still went ahead with the distribution to pull up the sales numbers, misleading and deceiving customers who purchased and leased the GV80 SUVs.
