Hershey’s Hot Fudge Topping Involved In A New Class Action, The Hershey Company Accused Of Misleading Consumers
The Hershey Hot Fudge topping is in the middle of a class action lawsuit filing against the food giant by a complainant who expected more from the product.
Hershey In Court Over Their Hot Fudges
According to the latest reports, The Hershey Company is facing allegations of making their customers believe that they use premium ingredients on their Hershey Hot Fudge Topping product, although they only used cheaper materials to make the food item.
Filed in an Illinois court by plaintiff Sandra Lederman, the Hershey’s Hot Fudge Class Action Lawsuit is seeking to take The Hershey Company to court for different accusations.
According to Lederman, the company used different techniques to make their buyers believe that they are buying a hot fudge topping that uses higher-priced ingredients of chocolate, cream, butter, and sugar.
However, the truth is the hot fudge maker employs cheaper and lower quality ingredients, including whey, vegetable oil, and skim milk, to make the finished product. The aforementioned substances do not stand a candle compared to the more expensive ingredients based on taste, quality, and overall feel.
The Plaintiffs & Hershey’s
The leading plaintiff shared that she bought The Hershey Company’s Hershey Hot Fudge, for she repeatedly believed that she is buying a premium quality hot fudge offering. Yet, later on, she found out the truth behind the hot fudge’s actual ingredients.
Had Lederman and other customers have known about the truth of the hot fudge’s actual ingredients, they would not have bought the fudge or paid a higher price for it. However, due to the company’s misleading advertising claims, they ended up paying for a product that is much less to what they are worth as advertised to clients.
The Hershey’s Hot Fudge Class Action Lawsuit is seeking to hold The Hershey Company accountable for their alleged misdeeds and violations of the law. Additionally, the case’s proponents are looking forward to receiving a court order that would force the hot fudge maker to update and correct their product labeling and pay up for the related legal expenses.
