July 2018 brought us a new consumer class action lawsuit against UTZ, and moreover, its Good Health Natural Products subsidiary. The class action seeks out the Good Health Veggie Straws product for misrepresenting the vegetable content and nutritional and health qualities of Good Health Veggie Straws. Specifically, the Good Health Veggie Straws Lawsuit claims that the snack is marketed as containing significant amounts of actual vegetables, along with being nutritious and healthful, and are significantly more healthful than similar products. Plaintiffs found this incorrect, however when the companies changed the ingredients in the snacks and, since January 2017, they have not contained all of the ingredients listed on the label, and the vitamins in the snacks are now synthetic and not from actual vegetables.
