Recently, Best Buy and their popular computer maintenance service, Geek Squad, face a class action lawsuit (referred to herein as: Geek Squad Class Action, or, Best Buy Class Action), after, allegedly, using unvetted technicians for home security installations. 

According to the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, despite their promises, the electronics retailer didn’t use Geek Squad during these home installations. Thus, they violated California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act.

The Recent Best Buy Class Action Lawsuit

In this recent class action lawsuit, thousands of Best Buy customers suffered similar situations with their home security installation. 

“Best Buy either negligently or intentionally contracted with the unlicensed companies to provide installation services for its customers across the United States,” the plaintiff revealed.

Also, the class action lawsuit asserted that plaintiffs were violated when Best Buy “knowingly” used unlicensed installation companies. 

The plaintiff “was harmed by Defendants’ actions when Defendants knowingly sold and used unlicensed installation companies to install a home security system in his residence,” stated the class action lawsuit.
