There was a consumer class action lawsuit filed in April 2018 against Ford Motor Company which alleged that Ford deceptively advertised its F-250 and F-350 Super Duty vehicles as being the Cleanest Super Duty Diesel Ever. The company also claimed the vehicles reduced nitrogen oxide emissions when the trucks actually were equipped with a device which lessens the emission controls when they are not being tested. This practice results in trucks that give off more pollution during normal driving conditions than they do during these tests. According to the Ford Super Duty Class Action Lawsuit Complaint, the pollution given off by the F-250 and F-350’s exceeded both federal and state limits. It is alleged in the Ford Super Duty Lawsuit that the company’s advertising promised that these vehicles have best-in-class fuel economy and best-in-class towing without disclosing the practices of the aforementioned device.
