Bontrager WaveCel Helmet Class Action Lawsuit – False Safety Claims By The Company…

Bontrager WaveCel Helmets Not As Effective In Protecting Users From Head Injuries As Marketed By Its Manufacturer – Lawsuit

Trek Bicycle Corporation is slapped with a class action lawsuit alleging that it has made claims on its Bontrager WaveCel helmets that were intended to deceive customers into believing that they are effective in protecting its users.

According to court records filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, plaintiff Andrew Glancey has challenged the company’s claims that its Bontrager WaveCel helmet products are effective in protecting its users from head injuries if they use them.

Trek Bicycle Corporation had made pronouncements such as its Bontrager WaveCel helmet being “the most advanced helmet technology ever designed,” with the company’s president even boasting that it was the next big thing in rider protection when they launched the product.

However, the class action cites the claim made by the company that the Bontrager WaveCell helmets were “48 times more effective” compared to other competing companies’ products in the market as “false, deceptive, and misleading.”

Also, the plaintiff contends that this data cited by Trek Bicycle Corporation’s marketing results from altered internal testing results curated by the company to show favorable figures to share with the public.

In fact, the class action adds, the company did not use actual Bontrager WaveCel helmets during the testing and only ended up using a modified helmet using only a part of WaveCel’s technology.

The company has made these claims in a bid to market its Bontrager WaveCel helmets as a more effective solution to head injury protection.

Accidents may cause individuals to not only suffer from wounds and bruises but may also inflict light to severe damage to a person’s cranial area.

With the company’s claims, Glancey contends in their lawsuit, Trek Bicycle Corporation is insinuating that its WaveCel helmets help prevent concussions which is completely false.

Amidst all of this, the company has vehemently denied all allegations raised in the class action lawsuit. They have vowed to tackle the legal battle head-on in court.
