Former President Donald Trump Was Sued For Allegedly Causing COVID-19 Deaths
A class action lawsuit was charged against former President Donald Trump due to allegations that he failed to protect the country from deaths due to COVID-19.
The Class Action Lawsuit
Arnett Thomas, the lead plaintiff, filed the class action lawsuit against former President Donald Trump in April 2021 at a New Jersey federal court.
According to the New Jersey resident, the former president has subjected American citizens to a herd immunity experiment that caused the virus to spread throughout the United States.
The alleged experiment failed, which resulted in residents’ death due to the coronavirus itself.
The class action lawsuit seeks to represent American citizens who have suffered any form of loss due to the experiment.
The lead plaintiff attested that the former president performed a herd immunity experiment on American citizens in early 2020 when the coronavirus was at its early stage.
He argued that citizens were not given the option to opt-out of being subjected to the experiment. He added that the experiment backfired, causing it to spread around the country and ultimately led to thousands of deaths.
The lead plaintiff believes that Trump has breached American citizen’s rights by allowing them to undergo the experiment.
Trump’s Coronavirus Taskforce
The class action lawsuit states that Trump has created a Coronavirus Taskforce to manage the coronavirus pandemic.
The task force was headed by Trump’s former Vice President, Mike Pence.
The lead plaintiff insists that the task force has been negligent in handling the spread of the coronavirus.
The class action lawsuit argues that the former president has intentionally decided not to implement a nationwide lockdown, despite the country’s need for it.
It adds that the former president’s decision was due to his intent to execute the herd immunity experiment, which, if successful, will significantly boost his re-election candidacy.
The lead plaintiff believes that Trump’s administration intentionally allowed the virus to spread by withholding funds and not allocating resources to help control the pandemic.
The class action lawsuit seeks to compensate $1 trillion from damages incurred due to the coronavirus experiment. It also aims to require Congress to implement changes that would prevent a similar scenario from happening in the future.
