Verizon Wireless Family SharePlan Holders Receive Checks & Account Credits In Settlement Agreement
Attention Verizon Wireless Family SharePlan customers! Verizon has already started to distribute payments to qualified Family SharePlan Settlement members that were allegedly charged different rates for calls made with their numbers.
Verizon Family SharePlan Class Action Settlement Details
The settlement is an agreement that Verizon agreed to enter to end the class action lawsuit proceedings filed against them. The Family SharePlan Settlement Agreement would require Verizon to pay up more than $36 million in funds that remained after other legal and administrative fees were settled.
There are two different modes in which Verizon customers will be able to receive their payments. Current customers will be provided a bill credit on their current accounts, while former Verizon customers would be paid via check.
This latest class action settlement agreement originated from a complaint filed against Verizon for allegedly violating its contract with its customers after charging different rates while they were under the company’s Verizon Family SharePlan.
Verizon’s legal team continued to deny any wrongdoing, yet they have decided to enter into an agreement to resolve the dispute legally. The case’s final hearing was on March 30th of 2015.
Verizon, or Verizon Communications, is a telecommunications company with a multinational reach. Making more than $128 billion in revenue in 2020 alone, the company is considered as one of the Dow Jones corporate components. Founded in 1983, Verizon is run by its CEO Hans Vestberg.
