Suboxone Settlement Checks in the Mail
The opioid addiction medication Suboxone manufacturer Indivior and the Federal Trade Commission have negotiated a $60 million settlement. Class members have been reported to receive the rebate already.
Indivior Inc. and its subsidiary Reckitt Benckiser Group conspired to prohibit a lower-priced generic version of Suboxone from interfering with their significant pharmaceutical sales, as per the FTC.
Moreover, Indivior wrongly represented its Suboxone Film as being “less susceptible to accidental pediatric exposure than Suboxone Tablets,” which was brought up just before a generic version of Suboxone tablets hit the market.
As a result, many consumers were apparently compelled to switch to Suboxone Film, which was the more expensive choice, due to this deceptive claim.
Indivior violated Section 5 of the FTC Act, according to the Suboxone lawsuit, by engaging in unlawful business practices that prevented competition.
The Indivior Settlement
All Suboxone Film prescriptions given in the United States between March 1, 2013, and February 28, 2019, were covered by the Suboxone settlement.
The payout amount was determined by the total number of claims made and the length of time the consumer was given Suboxone film.
To get a refund check, consumers were asked to register a claim no later than December 1, 2020, to follow the terms of the FTC settlement.
No proof of purchase was necessary at the time. However, consumers were suggested to still keep any supporting documentation just in case the settlement administrator encounters any issues later on.
